The estate of San Giuliano has been owned by the family of the Marquis Paternò Castello di San Giuliano for over 800 years. Situated between Catania and Siracusa, with Mount Etna in the distance, the land is very fertile and cultivated mainly with citrus trees species.
The San Giuliano family have for many generations, compiled books of their old family recipes for marmalades, biscotti, cakes and preserved fruits. These recipes were inherently simple, using only fresh fruit and natural products in season.
In the early 1980’s Fiamma di San Giuliano decided to produce and sell some of these recipes, using organic fruit from the estate, cooked at home by their own staff. Her commitment and determination, allowed the marmalade business to grow over the years and gain importance in the market.
Today, at San Giuliano we continue to run the family business in the same tradition assisted by many of the same people.
